Facets is a mixed-use facility located in Jodhpur's industrial hub, Basni Phase II. It houses a warehouse, workspaces, and an experience centre for an electrical switches company. The design brief for Facets required the creation of a unique identity for a new entrant in the industrial zone. The construction material is RCC as the structure was to be built on purchased land and would form a valuable appreciable asset of the company in the future. The construction typology specified in the brief would make the building subject to special regulatory norms limiting the height.
The design was further subject to strict ancient Vedic planning principles of Vaastu Shastra that eliminated the possibility of cantilevers and further predetermined a ‘closed cuboid’ typology of volume as the built form.

The building formally integrates chamfered volumes to create balconies and open spaces on each floor. It was further clad in locally sourced, hand-cut terracotta bricks, arranged in a corbelled pattern to enhance self-shading and thermal performance.
The corbelling patterns playfully differentiate throughout the structure to mitigate head absorption. This multi-dimensional approach resulted in a notable 5-degree Celsius reduction in internal temperatures, significantly improving user comfort. Additionally, the incorporation of doubly curved, corbelled elements at ground level enhanced the building's aesthetic appeal and pedestrian experience, further integrating it with its urban context.
The strategic placement of an internal courtyard on the second last level optimizes natural light while maintaining shaded areas for comfort.
